(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

John Wilder is a full time roofer, a part time stripper, and the world’s greatest dad. Okay, so that last one is a work in progress, but Wilder is doing his best—it’s just that between working two jobs and parenting, he’s struggling, and Gracie’s grandparents are just waiting for him to fail. Getting off on the wrong foot with Gracie’s disapproving kindergarten teacher is the last thing he needs. But Wilder is determined to ace this parenting thing and wipe the judgemental look off Avery Smith’s cute, kissable face—wait, what?

Avery Smith is in his first year teaching, and he’s already got a problem parent. Exhibit A, John Wilder. He turns up late, forgets to bring his daughter snacks, and Avery’s sure he spotted him at the bar the next town over wearing glitter and a G-string. But Avery soon discovers that there’s more to Wilder’s situation than meets the eye, and he finds himself drawn to the attractive single dad. Except Avery has one hard and fast rule—no crushing on the straight dads, no matter how tempting. And Wilder is straight, right?

Turns out Wilder is about to learn a lot of things about himself, and Avery is the perfect teacher.

I had not read either of these authors before I picked up the first book in this series. I really enjoyed reading it, so I want to continue the series.

Waiting On Wednesday (731) Burning for Alexander (Made Marian Legacy #2) by Lucy Lennox

Expected Publication: November 18, 2025
Genre: MM, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

I came to Legacy for a fresh start—to outrun my past and forget the anonymous man I fell for online.

But now all I see is Alex Marian.
The bane of my existence. Firebug. Reckless bar owner. Walking disaster.

It doesn’t matter that he’s the sexiest man alive. Or charming. Or kind.

He’s entitled, spoiled, rich, naive—everything I hate.

The townspeople say he’s the sunshine to my grump.
What they don’t know is that worrying about him keeps me up at night.

He's the match, and I'm the gasoline—and the way he looks at me says he knows exactly what kind of fire we'd make together.

Alex Marian might just be worth the burn.

I read the first book in this series and it was just okay. I've read a lot of this author's books, but they are becoming a bit repetative. Depending on how much I enjoy this book, I may give up on the rest of this series.

Waiting On Wednesday (730) After Hours at Dooryard Books by Cat Sebastian

Expected Publication: November 18, 2025
Genre: MM, Historical Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

1968 New York City

News about the war might be keeping Patrick up at night--news in general might be keeping Patrick up at night--but he's doing fine. He's sure of it. He gets to spend his days selling books in the gayest neighborhood on the East Coast and his nights merrily sleeping his way through the rare book community. But when he takes in a drifter who seems to be hiding something, and his best friend and her newborn move into the apartment upstairs, his life gets turned on its head.

A sleepy little bookstore should be the perfect place for Nathaniel to lie low, waiting for his past to catch up with him, but it turns out Dooryard Books is full of political radicals and anti-war agitators. If the FBI isn't actively surveilling this place, it will be. Nathaniel should go anywhere else. The last thing he expects is to like these subversives. There's a grieving folk musician and her baby--a demon of a child who will only sleep if Nathaniel, of all people, holds her. There's a pair of rabble-rousing teenagers who, upsettingly, seem to be right about everything. And then there's Patrick, who can't walk past anyone who needs his help--and who is perplexingly determined to help Nathaniel.

As the world balances on the precipice of something new and scary and maybe even hopeful, Patrick needs to decide what he's willing to risk for this chaotic new community he's accidentally created. And Nathaniel needs to figure out whether he has a place in this messy, flawed world--and whether he can believe he deserves it.

1968 is the year of my birth, so I don't remember much about it. Ha! I was raised far from New York, and I don't have firsthand knowledge of the 60's culture there, but I want to read this because it sounds really good and I enjoyed this author's previous books.

Waiting On Wednesday (729) A Loser By Christmas (Christmas Collection #4) by Con Riley

Expected Publication: November 14, 2025
Genre: MM, Holiday, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Spending December with a pro hockey player is the very last thing I have time for. I’m on a tight deadline to escape a job I never wanted, selling speedboats for my father. My only problem is that I need cash to help me sail away from London. Calum Trelawney has the money I need. He also has good reason to hate me.

I’m Valentin Juno, the YouTube creator who made his best friend go viral, and not in a good way. Now hockey’s MVP wants out of his contract and is prepared to pay to make that happen. All I need to do is make him look like a big enough loser that his club drops him.

Following Calum with my camera all through December should be easy. At least, it would be if I had some answers. Like, why is he in England right in the middle of hockey season? And why is he so desperate to escape a contract worth millions?

Prepare for fireworks, for snark with a French accent, and for your stocking to be stuffed with an unexpectedly sweet enemies-to-lovers story set in a central London marina.

I enjoyed reading this author's previous Christmas books because they were a bit on the wholesome side. I'm not terribly excited about this book's premise because it sounds a bit extreme, so I hope it's good!
