This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

I’ve inherited my aunt’s historic house in small-town Oregon, and I need to fix it up and sell it fast before I move on to my big-city dreams. I’m one of the navy’s best investigators, but twenty years of living in base housing means DIY isn’t part of my extensive skill set.

Luckily, my best friend has the solution: his twenty-three-year-old son. Knox recently graduated from college, needs a room for the summer, and comes with a giant cat and years of remodeling experience.

Not only is Knox all grown up and hot as sin, but I recognize him. He’s the bossy, bearded guy I shared the hottest kiss of my life with. No way can my buddy find out I’ve got it bad for his son.

As our secret summer fling continues, Knox also proves himself handy at fixing my grumpy mood and wounded heart. Now I can’t imagine a future without him. I can solve any problem the navy throws at me, but I have no clue what to do about loving Knox or the damage this could do to my decades-long friendship.

Can we build a forever together, or are we destined to go our separate ways?

This author writes mostly military centric stories, which I don't usually enjoy. But this is a new series that's supposed to be less 'military', so I'm giving it a go. This isn't my favorite trope, so I hope I like it!

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Fakes, folk music, and ghost fires.

When legendary folk singer Lara Fairplay agrees to make her comeback appearance at Pirate Cove’s annual maritime music festival, everyone in the quaint seaside village is delighted—including mystery bookstore owner and sometimes amateur sleuth, Ellery Page.

Lara is scheduled to perform a recently discovered piece of music attributed to “the father of American music,” Stephen Foster.

Several mysterious accidents later, Ellery is less delighted—especially when it becomes clear to him that someone plans to silence the celebrity songbird forever.

Another surprise release from this author. Well, I've already read it and I wasn't too impressed. I love the series, but this installment felt exactly what it was - rushed and a bit sloppy. Sigh. I do enjoy this author, and I love most of her books, but this series got all out of whack when she listed pre-orders and then didn't meet those deadlines. Book #7 actually came out a few months ago, so this (book #6) is almost a year late. I guess I just couldn't appreciate that it was released at all because it didn't add anything to the story arc overall. It's more of a throwaway book in the sense that if you didn't read it, you didn't miss anything. Hopefully the rest of this series will be better.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When Quaid gets entangled in a strange missing persons case, Aslan finds himself craving the job he’s abandoned. He wants to be part of the action.

To do so, Aslan needs to overcome significant personal barriers, and Quaid is willing to help in any way he can.

Their bond has grown exponentially, but what does the future have in store?

This is my favorite series EVER!! Okay, realistically, this is my favorite current series. I don't know for sure that it will end up being my all time favorite, but it will definitely be up at the top!! I love it!

There is so much to like about this series: the characters (obviously), the romance (which is at the boyfriend stage, but they just got to the 'I love you's', so there's room to grow!), but there's nothing better than solving a case with Quaid and Aslan!

Waiting On Wednesday (594) Wild Goose Chase (Palm Island #4) by K.M. Neuhold

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When opposites attract, falling in love can feel like a Wild Goose Chase.

I know it’s wrong to check out my best friend’s twin brother.

Pete doesn’t think he’s fit for island life, but he doesn’t know Palm Island like I do. He might think it’s all drinking on the beach and bed hopping, but maybe if I can show him the beauty and freedom underneath it all, he might decide to stay.

He came for a visit, to escape a bad breakup and a life that’s been closing in on him, but the island doesn’t lure anyone in on accident.

He might be all wrong for me; too careful, too neat, too structured. Maybe I could use a little more structure in my life, and maybe Pete could use some chaos.

I'm continuing with this series even though it's ridiculous and unrealistic. Whatever. I'm just kind of going with it and not taking it too serious. I've read a few other series from this author, but this is the most "out there" storyline ever! (It centers on a group of guys that live on a beach resort island, and their shenanigans in the off season. The part that doesn't make sense is the location is an island in the southern US, which dosen't freeze so should be accessible by boat. However, the ferry stops running for 6 months so there are NO visitors and these guys run amok doing whatever they want since there are no tourists. But, there is no income without tourists supporting their businesses, and they are not independently wealthy, so I just don't understand.)
