Waiting On Wednesday (606) Into the Tempest (Storm Boys #2) by N.R. Walker

Expected Publication: June 27, 2023
Genre: M/M, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Jeremiah Overton is now in charge of Darwin’s Bureau of Meteorology, and his storm chaser boyfriend, Tully Larson, couldn’t be happier. For Tully, it means watching summer storms with the love of his life. But for Jeremiah, it means relearning everything on equipment that’s older than he is.

Summer storms also mean it’s cyclone season. While Tully’s no stranger to tropical storms and the occasional cyclone, for Jeremiah, it’s a first.

As Tropical Cyclone Hazer bears down on the city, Jeremiah and Tully prepare to stay behind. Jeremiah knows what to expect, theoretically, but living through it is a different story.

If they live through it at all.

I'm enjoying this series, even though these guys are nuts! Standing in the middle of a raging thunderstorm is NOT my idea of fun! Hello??? Lightning can kill you. Duh. They survived the first book, and I'm assuming they survive the Cyclone since there is a book #3. Sigh. Boys.

Waiting On Wednesday (605) Up in Flames by Eden Finley and Saxon James

Expected Publication: July 13, 2023
Genre: M/M, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings

(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When it’s your job as groomsman to tell the groom his wedding isn’t happening, the smartest thing to do is get it over and done with and then tell the guests to leave.

Yeah, well, I never said I was smart.

I might … accidentally, maybe on purpose, suggest to Remy that the best form of revenge is to have a party anyway. I mean, he’s already got catering, a DJ, and guests, so what better time to throw a party?

My loser high school friend never deserved him anyway. If I’d had the chance, I would have asked Remy out years ago.

Only, when the party leads to a drunken kiss and we end up going on their honeymoon, I have to say, I’m not entirely sad that their wedding went up in flames.

Happy Summer Solstice!!

These 2 authors have been writing together for just a few years, but this will be the first time I'm reading a collaboration from them. I'm not really familiar with their work, so I hope I like this!

Waiting On Wednesday (604) Broadway Butchery (Memento Mori #3) by C.S. Poe

Expected Publication: June 22, 2023
Genre: M/M, Romance, Mystery

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The Cold Case Squad of the NYPD is overworked, understaffed, but receiving great press due to star detective, Everett Larkin. His uncanny memory and Holmesian-like skills of deduction have already led to the capture of one serial killer. Now he’s identified a second predator and brought an end to their twenty-plus year reign of terror.

Routine construction at a Broadway souvenir shop leads to the discovery of a mummified woman in the wall. And when Larkin receives a mysterious VHS tape that same night, he knows it’s no coincidence. Expecting a Victorian mourning artifact in this new mystery, Larkin wastes no time turning to former historian and current boyfriend, Ira Doyle of the Forensic Artists Unit for help.

A web of nameless victims, countless suspects, and endless lies drag Larkin and Doyle deep into the gritty past of Times Square, reopening painful wounds and testing the fortitude of their relationship. And all the while, someone is watching, biding their time until they can make Everett Larkin nothing… but a memory.

I love this series! The first 2 books were my favorite reads last year. Larkin has HSAM - Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory. He vividly recalls dates and events with perfect memory and experiences the emotions as if it were currently happening. Needless to say, he is an emotional wreck, but Doyle has been there to support him and keep him going. This 'couple' has SUCH a slow burn going on, but it's almost not noticable because the cases are so convoluted and intense. I can't wait to read this! (P.S. I pre-ordered this, so please don't be delayed again. My heart can't take it.)

Expected Publication: June 6, 2023
Genre: M/M, Romance

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Tully Larson has loved tropical storms since he was a kid and spent his summers with his dad in the wilds of Kakadu National Park. He’s happiest outdoors, a rough and ready kind of guy who loves the power of Mother Nature and chasing the thrill of electrical storms every chance he gets.

Jeremiah Overton, a fulminologist from Melbourne, chases storms for a whole different reason. Lightning has shaped his entire life and he’s driven to study it, to understand it, so heading to Kakadu in the middle of the storm season is a logical thing to do. After all, the Top End is the lightning capital of Australia.

Tully wasn’t sure how a week at his remote bunker with an academic type would pan out. And Jeremiah didn’t expect much from the storm-chasing cowboy who volunteered to take him.

But both men know all too well that when opposites attract, lightning strikes.

Another Wednesday, another double WoW post. (I love all these new releases, I just wish I wasn't so busy that I don't have much time to read. I am currently 17 books behind on my Goodreads challenge. 17! What the heck?)

King Hunt is the 3rd book in this series. I have a thing where I re-read the first book(s) in a series if it's a long time between releases. I didn't re-read the first before the second was released and holy cow was I lost. SO lost. Whatever. I just read the second book in February, so I should be good to go this time.

Outrun the Rain is set in Australia!! I love this author. I just read the prequel (#0.5) to this series and it was SO good. I wish it was full length rather than a 100 page novella. Gimme more!!

Both of these were released yesterday, so they are waiting for me on my Kindle. Now I just need to find more time to read!
