(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

There’s trouble brewing in the cold waters of Kildevil Cove, and this time Danny Quirke may be hard put to stop it.

Due to his suspected association with his former boss’s human trafficking organization, Danny has been demoted and is no longer in charge. To make matters worse, he’s broken up with his partner, Tadhg... who may be in serious hot water himself. But then a faceless killer begins targeting Kildevil Cove’s most vulnerable, and Danny can’t refuse when his new boss asks him to take the case.

When Danny pulls a hypothermic young woman out of a small boat in the middle of a blizzard, she whispers a cryptic phrase about a man with no face. But who is he? What is his connection to the murders? And how is Danny going to solve the mystery while he’s the subject of an investigation that could end his career?

WHY did I allow myself to get so far behind on this series?? I really enjoyed reading the first book, but hesitated before reading the second book. Then, I was caught off guard when the third book came out. Not prepared to catch myself up to date, I put it off. NOW book four is out and I have no reason not to pick up with this series again. I don't know why I do this to myself when I'm dying to know what happens!!

Waiting On Wednesday (544) Hand Picked (Sunday Brothers #2) by May Archer

Genre: M/M, Romance

(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Once upon a time, I moved to Vermont… and wound up accidentally sort of married.

Webb Sunday is the straight single dad next door.

He’s lumberjack-gorgeous, strong and steady as the trees in his family orchard, a grumpy fairytale prince...

And entirely off-limits.

Or so I thought.

Until the drunken night the two of us walked into a bar… and landed ourselves in the middle of small-town history.

Who knew hand-fasting was still a thing?

The town of Little Pippin Hollow did.

And once this bunch of meddling Vermonters gets wind of our accidental betrothal, they are determined to see us seal the deal.

But while the chemistry between us is hot enough to melt the winter cold, Webb isn’t interested in a relationship… and I’m not sure how long I can keep pretending I don’t want our hand-fasting to be real.

Because while the man might not be the happily ever after I came to Vermont for… he’s looking more and more like the one who’s been hand-picked for me.

I had this on my schedule for a May release date, but here it is out already. I don't know. Anywho, I already read it and I loved it! It was cute and sweet and had just the right amount of apple filled romance and small town busy body shenanigans. I can't wait for the next book!

Waiting On Wednesday (543) Real Risk (West Coast Forensics #3) by Elle Keaton

Expected publication: April 21, 2022
Genre: M/M, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings

(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

It's possible they're a match, but first the two men will have to survive trial by fire.

Chief Devon Flynn is fighting smoke and flames, tirelessly protecting the lives and property of his fellow islanders from yet another spate of fires.

Arson or accident?

When injury puts him on the sidelines, West Coast Forensics Arson Investigator Kimball Frye offers his assistance. Frye is The Most Irritating Man in the World, a condescending know-it-all who rubs Devon the wrong way.

Or does he?

Decades ago an arsonist stole his family from him. Since then, Frye has devoted his life to putting them behind bars.

Is the arsonist trying to shift the blame onto Devon, or trying to kill him? If it's the latter it just might work.

Feeling the pull of attraction to Devon as the firebug grows bolder is inconvenient. Will Kimball listen to his heart or his head?

I've enjoyed reading this series so far. I especially like the setting, which is the same locale as her Veiled Intentions series. So there is some character cross over happening within this series.

Waiting On Wednesday (542) Flare (Style #1) by Jay Hogan

Expected publication: April 21, 2022
Genre: M/M, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

My own fashion label. The shiny new sign above the door means everything. My dream. My life. Worth every gruelling hour I’ve spent making it happen. Nothing can stop me now. Not the fear. Not the nightmares. Not my sad excuse for a love life. And certainly not Beckett Northcott, the sexy English professor who wouldn’t know a fitted shirt if it slapped him in the face and who has flannel down to an art form.

I don’t date for a very good reason, and yet Beck makes me want to break every damn one of my rules. But with my debut at Fashion Week looming, my business in trouble, and Beckett Northcott peeling open my terrified heart to a future I’ve never imagined, the threads of my carefully woven life are unravelling at the seams.

I could walk away. Or I could take a chance that Beck and I might just have what it takes to fashion a new life, together. A fresh design from a new cloth.

I've read a few books by this author recently and enjoyed them, so I thought I'd give this new series a spin. I also really like the New Zealand setting in her books.
