Waiting On Wednesday (652) Skeletons in the Closet (Shadowy Solutions #1) by Nicky James

Expected Publication: May 30, 2024
Genre: MM, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Unlikely pair, Tallus Domingo and Diem Krause, find themselves together on a case, uncovering secrets they never expected. But doesn't everyone have skeletons in their closet?

This is a spin off of the Valor and Doyle Mysteries Series that I adore, so of course I am going to read it! As of last week this was the only synopsis that was available.

What are you waiting on this week?

My husband and I are taking our first vacation without the kids. It's our 30th anniversary, so we're going to Vegas to get married by Elvis! No, not really, but I totally would get married by Elvis if I had to do it all over again!

It's not really a great time for us. I hate leaving my adult daughter who lives with us because she is going through a really rough time. My parents aren't doing well, Dad is almost completely blind and deaf, my Mom has Alzheimer's. And my dog just passed so I'm still really sad about that. But I'm trying to convince myself that I deserve a break from all the stress!

Waiting On Wednesday (651) The Men from Echo Creek by N.R. Walker

Expected Publication: May 17, 2024
Genre: MM, Historical Romance

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

In the winter of 1882, a boy from the mountains has to prove himself a man.

When Albie Bramwell’s father died, he was left with two thousand hectares of mountain to farm, and little help to run it. Abandoned by all but two of his workers, the whole town of Alpine Falls called him too young to run the farm alone.

Young, yes. At just nineteen, he was determined to prove them wrong. Even if it killed him.

In search of a new life, Percy Collins found himself in a small mountain town where he ran into a man not much older than himself and scored a job at Echo Creek. A property full of misfits, or so the townsfolk had called it. But what Percy found was a home.

What Albie found was something he never thought possible. A man to love, and a man to share his dreams.

But times were tough, the winter harsh, and money scarce. Albie and Percy would need to do more than prove themselves worthy. They’d need to not only prove themselves better than anyone else. They’d need to prove it twice.

I read a lot of this author's books and I always enjoy them. I've being going back and reading her older books, too. I don't think I've read a historical by her before, so I hope I like this!

Waiting On Wednesday (650) You Should Be So Lucky by Cat Sebastian

Expected Publication: May 7, 2024
Genre: MM, Historical Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This is my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The 1960 baseball season is shaping up to be the worst year of Eddie O’Leary’s life. He can’t manage to hit the ball, his new teammates hate him, he’s living out of a suitcase, and he’s homesick. When the team’s owner orders him to give a bunch of interviews to some snobby reporter, he’s ready to call it quits. He can barely manage to behave himself for the length of a game, let alone an entire season. But he’s already on thin ice, so he has no choice but to agree.

Mark Bailey is not a sports reporter. He writes for the arts page, and these days he’s barely even managing to do that much. He’s had a rough year and just wants to be left alone in his too-empty apartment, mourning a partner he’d never been able to be public about. The last thing he needs is to spend a season writing about New York’s obnoxious new shortstop in a stunt to get the struggling newspaper more readers.

Isolated together within the crush of an anonymous city, these two lonely souls orbit each other as they slowly give in to the inevitable gravity of their attraction. But Mark has vowed that he’ll never be someone’s secret ever again, and Eddie can’t be out as a professional athlete. It’s just them against the world, and they’ll both have to decide if that’s enough.

I like baseball. I like a lot of sports actually, but I do watch or listen to every Cardinals game, so I'm a big baseball fan? Anyways, I hope I like this book!
