I love this series so much. However, as the series has progressed, there has been WAY too much crossover with characters from her other series (that I haven't read). So I'm forced to read about a bunch of people that I don't give a crap about. I would seriously prefer focusing on the original couple and their personal and professional growth.

(Evidently book covers and titles mean a LOT to me, because I haven't found her other books interesting enough to want to read. Oops.)

This series seems a bit toned down from what I usually expect from this author. I'm used to the small town hijinks and nosy busybodies, but it's all missing here. I shouldn't complain, I suppose, because I also complained about the crazy over the top writing in her previous series. I need a happy balance!

So much for lying low.

Being off his game only partially explains why Gabe would rather focus on a stranger’s bad luck than his own. Fact is, he's always had a soft spot for losers and maybe, just maybe, he's tired of the game.

I've read this author's Piedras Island and Veiled Intentions series, so I'm very familiar with the location and the people. I'm excited to read an entire series with the same main character. (Her previous series feature a different MC in each book.)
