Waiting On Wednesday (223) The Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

 photo WoW_zpsefugwmrq.png

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.

 photo TheRavenKing_zps6rzr9m5r.jpg

Expected publication: April 26th 2016 by Scholastic Press

Synopsis from Goodreads:

All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love's death. She doesn't believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore.

I can't even. Gansey will not die. Gansey will not die. There will be no freaking tragedy in this book that could potentially scar me for life. I shall be a blubbering, pissed off mess if the ending doesn't go my way. (And I will be done with this author's books. I can't take more disappointment after the debacle that was The Wolves of Mercy Falls. I can't be the only one who found the ending severely lackluster.)

Expected publication: April 12th 2016 by Harper Teen

Synopsis from Goodreads:

For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed of Max. Together they have traveled the world and fallen deliriously, hopelessly in love. Max is the boy of her dreams—and only her dreams. Because he doesn’t exist.

But when Alice walks into class on her first day at a new school, there he is. It turns out, though, that Real Max is nothing like Dream Max, and getting to know each other in reality isn’t as perfect as Alice always hoped.

When their dreams start to bleed dangerously into their waking hours, the pair realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

Whimsical, romantic and utterly original, Lucy Keating’s debut novel will win readers’ hearts.

This sounds really cute and sweet. I don't know.... What do you think? Maybe too cute?

Bookish Updates: New On My Shelf

 photo update banner_zpsdpculb50.png

I haven't had a lot going on recently. I've been sewing a lot for my Etsy Shop and reading when I can. What has changed is that I'm totally into only reading what I want to read right now. I really cut back on requesting eArcs late last year. This is my first update this year because it's the first time I've really had new books to share. I'm excited to read all of these!

eArcs For Review:

I've been looking forward to reading Dirty since Vaughan showed up in Deep, the last book in the Stage Dive Series. I'm hoping he doesn't disappoint.

Waiting On Wednesday (221) Walk the Edge (Thunder Road #2) by Katie McGarry

 photo WoW_zpsefugwmrq.png

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.

 photo WalkTheEdge_zps1aqwmblc.jpg

Expected publication: March 29th 2016 by Harlequin TEEN

Synopsis from Goodreads:

One moment of recklessness will change their worlds

Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen-year-old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyber-bully's line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it's time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.

Even though I'm not a fan of the 'motorcycle club' aspect, I enjoyed the first book in this series, and I'm looking forward to reading this one.

Review: The Recovery (The Program #2.5) by Suzanne Young

The Recovery (The Program, #2.5)The Recovery (The Program #2.5) by Suzanne Young

Publication Date: February 24, 2015
Page Count: 50
Published by: Simon Pulse
Source: Library eNovella

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Six months after the fall of The Program, ex-handler Michael Realm is struggling with his guilt. After all, he was instrumental in erasing the memories of several patients—including one he claimed to love. With a lifetime of regret stretched before him, Realm vows to set things right.

Along with his friend, James Murphy, Realm will track down those he’s hurt in an attempt to give them back their lives—starting with Dallas Stone. He’s not looking for forgiveness or redemption; he’s not a hero. But Realm hopes that with each recovered past, he’ll be able to reclaim a small bit of his own.

 photo MyThoughtsBanner2_zps1bk1ovpj.png

I had no idea what to expect when I borrowed The Recovery from my local library. I just knew that I was missing The Program series, and the next book, The Epidemic, isn't due out until April 19. So I really needed something to tide me over until then, and this worked perfectly.

I never really hated Michael Realm, so I didn't need to be convinced he had a heart and a conscience. I enjoyed going with him on his journey to make peace with himself and those he hurt while in The Program. I also love that I got a glimpse of James and Sloane again! There's not much else to say about this novella. It's short and left me feeling a little sad, but overall it was a great read. Maybe Michael will get a book of his own someday.... that's just me hoping.

Review: So Cute It Hurts!!, Vol. 3 by Gō Ikeyamada

So Cute It Hurts!!, Vol. 3So Cute It Hurts!!, Vol. 3 by Gō Ikeyamada

Publication Date: October 6, 2015
Page Count: 192
Published by: VIZ Media LLC
Source: Library

Synopsis from Amazon:

Megumu is almost done taking Mitsuru’s make-up classes for him, and it’s nearly time for the twins to go back to their own lives. But then catastrophe hits! Megumu’s true love, Aoi, discovers she’s really a girl and goes into an allergic fit. How will she ever face him again? And even worse, Mitsuru’s sworn enemy, Azusa, finds out he’s really a dude. What will happen when she spills the secret to his sweetheart, Shino?!

 photo MyThoughtsBanner2_zps1bk1ovpj.png

You can read my Review for Volume 1 HERE and my Review for Volume 2 HERE.

Aoi Sanada is SO freaking cute! I'm digging the eye patch and his laid back style. Now that he's figured out that Megumu is a girl, he is visibly relieved to not be gay. But he still has that small issue of panic attacks whenever he is within two feet of a girl. How can he overcome passing out whenever he gets too close? Especially since he really likes Megumu and her silly school girl antics (which really surprised me because he's the strong, silent type, yet he can admit to himself that he likes how over the top in love that Megumu acts. That's really sweet of him.)

Back at the all girls school, mean girl Azusa still can't figure out why Mitsuru (boy twin) likes Shino and not her. Mitsuru doesn't have the guts to tell her that he doesn't like her because she's MEAN. So Azusa takes matters into her own hands and orders Mitsuru to go on a date with her or else she'll spill his cross dressing secret to Shino. This 'date' sounds like a disaster waiting to happen!

Volume 3 of So Cute It Hurts is filled to the brim with sweetness and mushy love. It's even cuter than the first two volumes, despite a little trip to the hospital and a love separated by two feet! I'm really loving how this story is progressing. I already have Volume 4 here waiting for me to read!

Waiting On Wednesday (220) Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke

 photo WoW_zpsefugwmrq.png

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.

 photo WinkPoppyMidnight_zps7gz75vhk.jpg

Expected publication: March 22nd 2016 by Dial Books

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.

Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Two girls. One boy. Three voices that burst onto the page in short, sharp, bewitching chapters, and spiral swiftly and inexorably toward something terrible or tricky or tremendous.

What really happened?
Someone knows.
Someone is lying.

I haven't read anything by this author before, but this sounds too good to pass up.
