Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.

Expected publication: April 5th 2016 by VIZ Media LLC

Synopsis from Goodreads:

The Kobayashi twins, Megumu and Mitsuru, were named after historical figures, but only Megumu has grown up with a taste for history. So when Mitsuru is in danger of losing his weekends to extra history classes, he convinces his sister to swap clothes with him and ace his tests! After all, how hard can it be for them to play each other?

Megumu is considering a career as a manga artist, but as Mitsuru so helpfully points out, her drawing skills could use a lot of improvement. That doesn’t dim her enthusiasm, and she vows to practice drawing every day. But her first sketching session in a park is interrupted by an intense young man who goes ballistic when he sees the portrait of Aoi in her sketchbook! Who is this stranger, and why does he want to destroy her boyfriend?!

This is something different for my WoW pick this week. Manga! This is the first Manga series that I've read. I've been borrowing this series from my local library - which is right around the corner - and I love it! It really IS so cute it hurts. I just finished reading and reviewing Volume 5, and I have reserved my copy of Volume 6 from the library. I can't wait to find out who the new bad guy is!

Another reason I love this series? The main character, Aoi, wears an eye patch. I'm going to date myself here, but waaaay back in the mid 80's I fell hard for a man wearing an eye patch. Steve Johnson, better known as one half of Steve and Kayla. Sigh. I have fond memories of being a teen, and watching Days of Our Lives is one thing that I loved.

What are you waiting on this week?

    1. Thanks for stopping by Jessica. This is the first Manga that I've read. They're translated into English, so they're very similar to graphic novels or even comic books, and easy to read.

  14. God bless libraries for carrying graphic novels and manga. I usually buy books and annotate them as part of my reading process (can you tell I majored in English Literatue?) but I use my library card almost exclusively for graphic novels. I love mistaken identity and characters trying to swap roles and impersonate each other!

    1. I was surprised by the large selection at my library, which is what inspired me to start checking out this series.

Have I ever mentioned that I love my local library system? I borrow a lot of books!
