Synopsis from Goodreads:

Detective Matthew Bennett doesn't believe in ghosts. So when the spirit of a murdered child leads him to her body, he's shaken to the core--and taken off the case. Unable to explain his vision, or to let go of the investigation, Matthew turns to renowned medium Kiernan Fitzpatrick. Though he has doubts about Kiernan's claims to communicate with the dead, Matt is nevertheless drawn to the handsome psychic, who awakens feelings he thought were long-buried.

Haunted by the lingering spirit of the little girl, Kiernan is compelled to aid in the search for her killer. The chance to get closer to the enigmatic Matt is an unexpected bonus. Although Kiernan's been betrayed by people who turned out to be more interested in his fame than in himself, with Matt he's willing to risk his heart. As the two men grow closer, Kiernan helps Matt rediscover that life offers no guarantees--but love offers a reason to believe...

Well, this was certainly disappointing. The story didn't work for me for many reasons - I thought the mystery aspect was lacking, I never felt a connection between Kiernan and Matt, and I didn't really like their 'romance'.

My first impression of Kiernan was that he was a bit smarmy, so I never warmed up to him. I really liked Matt, though. I thought he was a great guy that deserved some happiness, and I liked that he felt compelled to do the right thing.

This book wasn't terrible, but there wasn't much that I liked about it. There were too many little things that bothered me, and they hampered my enjoyment.

Honestly, if you want to read a good M/M paranormal romance that has likable characters, go read P.S. I Spook You by S.E. Harmon.

My Rating: 2.5 Stars

  1. Sorry that this one wasn't for you. 2 and 2.5 star books are so hard to get through. Because they are decent enough not to DNF but you always end up hating yourself for finishing it. At least I do. I hope your next read is better!
