Follow Friday (11)

Follow Friday is a weekly feature hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee. It's a great way to discover new blogs and get new followers. I follow you, you follow me.

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Good question. I would definitely read my favorite book(s) over and over again rather than read 100 books that I don't like. I wouldn't want to waste time reading a mediocre book when I can jump into one I love and relive all the best scenes over and over again. I actually have kept my favs through the years on a shelf in my sewing room. I get the warm fuzzies when I take one out and flip through and re-read the yumminess.

  1. I often go back to my dilapated copies of JKRowling & Satyajit Ray books, but still the lure of new books wins!

  3. Yes, but how can you discover your next favorite book if you keep rereading your old ones?

    1. Well, I would miss discovering new books. But I would still rather read my favorites again than read something that I really didn't like. With my favorites I know what I am getting.

  5. I think it's great to hold onto your favourites, but I actually very rarely re-read books, simply because I fear that they would lose their sparkle somewhat.

  6. Hehe yumminess... I agree! I wouldn't be the avid reader that I am if I continued to read a bunch of mediocre books that didn't really interest me. I remember when I was younger, I would only read the books my school made me read, and I never liked them. So naturally, I really disliked reading with a passion. But when I started reading books that I liked, I loved reading! New follower!

  8. I love rereading too. But some of the mediocre books turn out to be pretty great. A lot of the ones I haven't been over the moon about (usually early on in a series) have turned into favorites as I've read through the series. Never know :)

  9. I agree... Favorites are reliable and if I had to choose I would pick up one of my trusted worn books rather than a questionable new book! Thanks for the follow I followed back!
