Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
Wednesday is my absolute favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.
Expected publication: September 16th 2014 by Balzer & Bray
Synopsis from Goodreads:
The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars in Gretchen McNeil’s witty and suspenseful novel about four disparate girls who join forces to take revenge on high school bullies and create dangerous enemies for themselves in the process.
Bree, Olivia, Kitty, and Margot have nothing in common—at least that’s what they’d like the students and administrators of their elite private school to think. The girls have different goals, different friends, and different lives, but they share one very big secret: They’re all members of Don’t Get Mad, a secret society that anonymously takes revenge on the school’s bullies, mean girls, and tyrannical teachers.
When their latest target ends up dead with a blood-soaked “DGM” card in his hands, the girls realize that they’re not as anonymous as they thought—and that someone now wants revenge on them. Soon the clues are piling up, the police are closing in . . . and everyone has something to lose.
So many books are compared to Pretty Little Liars, and I couldn't care less because I've never seen an episode. The Breakfast Club is awesome, but I can't get my kids to watch it. They don't want to watch an 'old' movie. They don't know what they're missing!!!! I just hope Get Even is an awesome beginning to this series.
What are you waiting on this week? Be sure to leave a link to your WoW post so it's easier for me to visit you. Yes, that means YOU!
Awesome pick! I loved The Breakfast Club myself and it was a few years before my time! They really don't know what they're missing! ;)

Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I keep thinking that eventually they will give in and watch some of my favorites from the 80's - Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, Say Anything, or even Dirty Dancing. Ha. Not only are these movies old, they are 'weird'. Oh well.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
The Breakfast Club is pretty awesome, and I like Pretty Little Liars, so it this is anything like either one of them, I'm in! Great pick.

This is the second time I've seen this today and it sounds so good I really am looking forward to reading this one. Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI hope we both enjoy reading this. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI love Pretty Little Liars, though I am getting annoyed at the comparisons now, because yeah, so many have been lately. But I love revenge based stories anyway, so can't wait to read this either! :)

It seems like a lot of contemps are using this tagline just to lure in readers. It doesn't work on me though. I do hope we both enjoy reading this one. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI've not seen the breakfast club but I love pretty little liars. I've been eyeing this book, but I don't know if I want to get it or not. Great pick! I've heard great things about the author. Thanks for stopping by My WoW!
ReplyDeleteHer other books are really good, which is why I want to start this series. Thanks for stopping by.

DeleteThis book looks so good. I wish it was coming out now instead of September!
ReplyDeleteI love The Breakfast Club and other movies I remember watching as a kid, but I feel the same way as your kids about movies that I consider old. They just look so dated and don't interest me.
Dated and old! LOL. Those are classics!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
I got my kids to watch TBC and they were like "eh" which made me cry. I mean, that movie is a classic!! Hope the book is good :)
ReplyDeleteJen @ YA Romantics
My kids tell me how weird I am when I quote these movies. If they only knew how good they were, I wouldn't get crap anymore!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
PLL is a favourite of mine (both the series and the show), so I'm always wary of the comparison. This sounds awesome though! Great pick :)
ReplyDeletePLL is not for me, but this book sounds awesome! Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteHmmm, I have yet to read a McNeil novel... this series sounds pretty great though. Even though I don't read too many contemporary novels :o
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
She has some other books out - I enjoyed reading Ten, which is also a contemp. And 3:59 is one that I have on my tbr pile for someday, but it is sci-fi or paranormal.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
The Breakfast Club was way before my time but I adore that film! I can't wait for this book, it sounds exactly like my type of book! Great pick :)
ReplyDeleteYou make me feel old with your "way before my time." LOL I hope you enjoy reading this one. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI'm excited for this one, too. Agreed that PLL seems to be the go-to for comparisons. I read the first few books in the series, but gave up when it just kept dragging on and on. Love the BC. Great pick!
