Sunday Updates (46)

Inspired by features from The Sunday Post from Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and Sunday Summary from Book Twirps.

I haven't done one of these posts in quite a few weeks, so I thought it was time for one. I don't like to request a ton of arcs because I don't want to get overwhelmed with reading and reviewing in a timely manner. So I only request books that I really, really want to read. I have read some really good books lately, and it looks like I have even more good ones coming up. I can't wait!

Thanks to Simon Pulse, Disney-Hyperion, Kensington Books, Soho Teen, Scholastic, and St. Martin's Griffin.
I'm really excited about reading all of these, but especially Perfect Couple and Killer Instinct.

No, you're not imagining things. Sinner is on here 3 times. My request finally got approved on NetGalley last week. The next day I received notice that I had won a copy on Goodreads. And the next day my library copy came in. Hmmmm... No matter, I'm looking forward to reading it (even though I think the ending of the trilogy was a total cop out that left me with more questions than answers. Disappointmentville. Don't get me started.)

  1. Wow! 3 copies of Sinner! It must be fate! Hopefully you'll like it! I enjoyed it myself. Guess it's been too many years since I read the Sinner trilogy because I can't remember much about it. Let alone Cole and Isabel's roles in it before they move onto Sinner! I remember some people being upset about different things, but I can't remember if I had any issues with it. Guess I didn't!

Again, hope you enjoy this one. I thought it was pretty good and I really got into Cole and Isabel's story!

Hope you enjoy all your other reads too! ;)

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. I saw Maggie here in St. Louis (Kirkwood Library) the same week that the third book came out. I hadn't had a chance to read it yet, but everyone was gushing about how amazing the ending was. THEN Maggie told the story of how she had wrote the whole book and sent it off to her publisher, but decided to scrap the whole thing and start from scratch. So I just assumed it would be amazing, but I was really disappointed. Really makes me wonder what she originally wrote.

I wasn't a huge fan of Cole in the original series, but I'm still willing to give him a chance.

  2. Loop was so good! I just read it the other day. And I can't wait to read Killer Instinct. I also liked Endless, it was a nice ending to the trilogy. The first book is still the best, though. That's funny about the three copies of Sinner, that happened to me with White Hot Kiss. I had requested it, never heard about it, so I bought it on my Kindle. Then a copy showed up in my mailbox from Goodreads, and then Edelweiss approved me. So crazy! Have fun reading all these great ARCs! ~Pam

    1. I liked the first book in the Shadowlands trilogy also. That ending killed me! Thanks for stopping by Pam.

    1. You'd think I would jump all over Sinner and read it right away. But I have a few other books that I want to read first.
