Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

Wednesday has become my favorite day of the week because I get to share the books that I am super excited about and can't wait to read.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

From debut author Goldy Moldavsky, the story of four superfan friends whose devotion to their favorite boy band has darkly comical and murderous results.

Okay, so just know from the start that it wasn't supposed to go like this. All we wanted was to get near The Ruperts, our favorite boy band.

We didn't mean to kidnap one of the guys. It kind of, sort of happened that way. But now he's tied up in our hotel room. And the worst part of all, it's Rupert P. All four members of The Ruperts might have the same first name, but they couldn't be more different. And Rupert P. is the biggest flop out of the whole group.

We didn't mean to hold hostage a member of The Ruperts, I swear. At least, I didn't. We are fans. Okay, superfans who spend all of our free time tweeting about the boys and updating our fan tumblrs. But so what, that's what you do when you love a group so much it hurts.

How did it get this far? Who knows. I mean midterms are coming up. I really do not have time to go to hell.

The first time I saw the title and read that synopsis I knew I wanted to read this. Only because my daughter is psychotically slightly obsessed with One Direction. She even has a Tumblr dedicated to Louis. I can't count the Louis related presents she received for Christmas. It's all 1D all the time around here, and I'm okay with it. I even enjoyed the concert we went to back in July. Fun times, let me tell you. So, yeah, I want to read this even though she doesn't have a least favorite band member, and she'd never want to kill one of them...

What are you waiting on this week?

  8. This sounds like an interesting book! Well, the plot is like 2007 film Taking Five starring The Click Five boy band maybe that is one of the inspiration on this book. :)
I'm looking forward to read it.

  9. Interesting pick! Normally, I would never read something like this, but it does sound like it will be darkly humorous, so I might very well give it a chance! And it's true that some fans go totally overboard.

I love Cold Play and U2. I wonder what would happen if I were to kidnap Bono, or Chris Martin....Hmmmm...

Hope you enjoy reading this one! Thanks for commenting on my own WOW, and Happy New Year!! : )

    1. My daughter is lovely and really shy, to the point of having anxiety, so she'd probably shut down and go into a coma if she ever met any of the guys from 1D. When we were discussing this book she was like "I could never!"
