Waiting On Wednesday (303) Devils & Thieves (Devils & Thieves #1) by Jennifer Rush

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Expected publication: October 3rd 2017 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Eighteen-year-old Jemmie Carmichael has grown up surrounded by magic in the quiet town of Hawthorne, New York. In her world, magic users are called "kindled," and Jemmie would count herself among them if only she could cast a simple spell without completely falling apart. It doesn't help that she was also recently snubbed by Crowe, the dangerous and enigmatic leader of the Black Devils kindled motorcycle gang and the unofficial head of their turf.

When the entire kindled community rolls into Hawthorne for an annual festival, a rumour begins spreading that someone is practising forbidden magic. Then people start to go missing. With threats closing in from every side, no one can be trusted. Jemmie and Crowe will have to put aside their tumultuous history to find their loved ones, and the only thing that might save them is the very flaw that keeps Jemmie from fully harnessing her magic. For all her years of feeling useless, Jemmie may just be the most powerful kindled of all.

I don't usually read fantasy, but this sounds too good to pass up!

What are you waiting on this week?

  10. So sorry for the late comment back! The thing is, we had a “nice little visit” from Hurricane Irma, in the city of Miami, Florida, where I live.

Before the storm, I was much too worried, as well as busy with preparations, to be able to focus on blogging. After Irma, we had no Internet service for a few days, so I STILL couldn’t do anything on my laptop. Now we’re back up, so I’m catching up with replies to my post comments, as well as comments back! WHEW!!

Oh, this is such an AMAZING pick, Sandra!! The plot is SO interesting, and I'm sure it will be full of twists and turns, too! I already like the two MCs, Jemmie and Crowe! I'm sure I'll enjoy reading about their turbulent relationship. And I'm VERY curious about the magic used in this book. In short, a REAL winner!! I KNOW we'll both love it, as I'm adding it to my GR shelves!!

Thanks for commenting on my my "Can't Wait Wednesday" post!! <3 :)
