Genre: M/M, Romance

(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Look, I left LA for a reason. I’ve had my fill of big Hollywood stars and their even bigger egos. I want something genuine. Something real. And it doesn’t get any realer than being the new sheriff of Aster Valley, Colorado.

That is, until entitled Finn Heller appears on the scene, handing me the keys to his convertible like I’m his personal servant.

The former child star and wannabe action hero is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. He’s also a snarky party animal with legions of adoring fans and attitude for days.

Or so I thought.

The longer the film crew stays in town, the more I begin to wonder if Finn is hiding his true self, one that’s as beautiful inside as out. He’s a star alright, but the kind that shines bright enough to light up the night sky... the kind I want to make a wish on.

A wish Finn will find a way to make things work with me, even if it means his next role is my very own leading man.

That cover is cringeworthy, but I'm liking this series so far. (Back in the day, this would have been a cover I would have attempted to hide! Thank goodness for eReaders!)

Waiting On Wednesday (496) Real Trouble (West Coast Forensics #1) by Elle Keaton

Genre: M/M, Romance

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Two men on opposite sides of the law: will they be able to set aside their differences and trust love?

Danylo Peters has issues, lots of them. He’s not on Piedras Island by accident, he’s not a nice guy, and Peters isn’t his real name. Dany’s in hiding, trying to escape his family’s influence and start a new life. But Dany must have been born under a bad sign because the very man he’s really running from is one of the first he runs into.

A new life in a new town seemed like the right decision for Soren Jorgensen, especially after a difficult case left him recovering from a gunshot wound and lonely as he'd ever been. Finding Dany living on Piedras brings back all the feelings he'd tried to lock away. He's angry and bitter and Dany is not going to continue to get away with his old tricks. Too bad Dany is just as compelling as he ever was.

The two men find themselves on opposite sides of Soren’s first case on Piedras, but neither is able to deny the attraction between them. They keep finding themselves in compromising situations; if they're found out there will be Real Trouble.

This is a spin off from the Veiled Intentions series, which I really enjoyed. I hope I like this new series just as much!

Waiting On Wednesday (495) Misdirection (Borealis: Without a Compass #2) by Gregory Ashe

Expected publication: May 14 2021
Genre: M/M, Romance

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Finding a missing boy will be hard. Dinner with Shaw’s parents might be murder.

When a rising star in the state senate asks Shaw Aldrich and North McKinney to transport her son, Flip, to and from his drug testing appointments, they’re not happy—they don’t do babysitting jobs. Arriving at the boy’s dorm room, though, they discover that the door has been forced and that Flip has disappeared, and rumors of strange men on campus suggest that something seriously bad has happened. The students and staff at the ritzy private school have plenty to tell about Flip, but the deeper North and Shaw dig, the less they understand what might have happened to the boy.

Then one of Flip’s friends is found dead, and it’s clear that she was killed for coming too close to the truth. As North and Shaw search for answers, they meet resistance from every angle: from the school’s staff, from Flip’s friends, from the police, even from Flip’s family. Someone wants the boy to disappear—and is willing to kill to make sure it happens.

The home front has its share of trouble too. North’s ‘uncle’ Ronnie is back at his old games, drawing North and Shaw into a job that seems simple on the surface—find a missing man who might be in trouble—but they suspect that the request hides something sinister. Ronnie’s involvement, and the job itself, puts the detectives on a collision course with Shaw’s parents and a strain on their fledgling relationship.

As the days pass, North and Shaw realize time is running out for Flip and, maybe, for them as well. They have been misled from the very beginning—and they might be too late.

I enjoyed the original series with these guys. So now we have a spin off series, or I guess a continuation is more accurate? Anyway, I read the first book and wasn't impressed. Honestly? It was a hot mess. But I'm willing to keep reading this series because I like the characters.

Waiting On Wednesday (494) Callan's Atlas (Brigs Ferry Bay #3) by K. Webster

Expected publication: May 12th 2021
Genre: M/M, Romance

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings
that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.
(WoW was previously hosted by Breaking The Spine.)

This my favorite day of the week because I love sharing and discovering new books.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

When we moved from New York to Maine, life was supposed to get easier, not harder. Change, for me, was difficult. I became the target of terrible crimes that resulted in sending a once-beloved man of the community to prison for a very long time.

Now that I'm eighteen, I could move back to the Big Apple, but fear has me rooted in place. I hate what that monster did to me. Looks like I'm stuck here for good. Brigs Ferry Bay’s unhappiest gay.

Each day, the darkness closes in around me more and more. Black clothes. Black mood. Black thoughts. Black eyeliner. The color in my life bled from me months ago and never came back.

Until him. Atlas Larson. Newest cop on the BFB police force. Too hot. Too strong. Too old for me. Too…everything.

Atlas is a rebellious, bossy, mouthy brute who likes to provoke me. Every encounter starts with heat and ends with an argument. Color begins sneaking back into my world little by little. He reminds me of who I once was and shows me who I’m meant to be.

I crave to leave this town once and for all. But now that I’ve found the courage to do it, the arrogant jerk with a badge might find a way to keep me here and in his arms forever.

Okay, so I read the first book in this series and it was just alright. I have the second book but haven't read it yet. But this third book? I think the synopsis is kinda cheesy. There. I said it. I'm not a particular fan of age gap romance, but part of me wants to read it to continue the series. Yet, a part of me is SO reluctant!
